If you have been searching for a sure way to get rid of bed bugs, then you may have came across a hand full of articles explaining on how to do so. Most of these articles all recommend professional pest control, which is not the answer most people want to hear.

That is why I am here to try and help you get rid of bed bugs without the pest control fees. There is no guarantee that this will work for everybody, but it did work for me so there is hope.

To get rid of bed bugs I first had to know all about bed bugs and their habitat. So I did some reading up on them from a book that I bought and put everything together in a plan that I would hope that worked. The materials needed cost under 100 dollars, so that was a good thing.

First thing that I did was went out and purchased a dust mite mattress cover, this kept the bed bugs that may have been in the mattress from getting out, and also eliminating one of their favorite hiding spots, between mattress crevices and cracks. Next I made sure that the mattress was pulled away from the wall.

My bed had a frame with four legs on it, all I had to do now was eliminate their ground attack. The way that I did this was with double sided tape, which runs about 10 bucks, by wrapping it around all four bed legs.

Bed bugs and their eggs cannot survive heat above 120 degrees, so I sniffed out all the spots that I thought they would be hiding at and hit them up with a hair dryer. The more you read up on bed bugs, the more you know where they could be hiding, hit all of those spots good with high heat and they will die.

When it came time to wash the dust mite cover, I made sure to go over the mattress thoroughly with a steam iron on the highest temperature possible. Just for the sake of spreading heat I used the blow dryer again as a back up.

After going nuts with the blow dryer, buying the double sided tape, and buying the dust mite cover, I have not noticed anymore bed bug bites to this day, which is about 8 months later. So will this work for everyone? Maybe not, but it did work for me as I stopped them before the room became majorly infested.
